Short answer: this website uses no analytics or advertising cookies (visitor statistics are calculated on the server, without cookies). There is just one technical cookie in the free tools, and the preferences you choose there are kept in your browser. That's why we don't show you a cookie banner.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser to remember information about your visit. Similar technologies, such as the browser's local storage, are also covered by this policy.
2. Cookies used by this website
Only in the free tools (spell checker and translator):
| Name | Type | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| escalf_web | Technical cookie (first party) | 20 minutes | Remembering that you've already passed the anti-bot check, so we don't ask again for every translation. It doesn't identify you or hold any of your data. |
| escalf.translator, escalf.corrector, escalf.corpus | Local storage (first party) | Until you clear it | Remembering the options you choose in the tools (languages, variant, corpus box). |
They are strictly necessary or requested by you when you use the tool, so no consent is needed.
3. Third-party cookies
There is only one case in which a third party may store cookies: the demo video.
| Service | Provider | When | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
| Demo video | YouTube (Google) | Only if you click to play it | Playing the video and remembering player preferences |
We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com) and load nothing from YouTube until you click the play button. You can read how Google uses cookies in its cookie policy.
To protect the free tools from bots, the first time you use them we may load Cloudflare Turnstile, a Cloudflare service that checks you are a person, usually without asking you to solve anything. Cloudflare processes some technical browser signals (such as your IP address) for this check; see its Turnstile privacy policy.
The visitor statistics we look at are Cloudflare's traffic statistics; Cloudflare is the service the website goes through. They are calculated on its servers from the requests they receive and put no script or cookie in your browser.
The rest of the website, fonts included, is served from our own server, with no third-party connections. You'll find more details in our privacy policy.
4. How to manage cookies
You can view, block or delete cookies in your browser settings:
5. Changes
If we ever add cookies that require your consent, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before using them.
6. Language
This is a translation of the Catalan original, provided for convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Catalan version prevails.
